2025 was a year full of growth for the insurance industry, but we also recognize the challenges brokerages faced along the way. The labour market tightened, making it harder to recruit and retain talent; brokerages noticed how outdated technology slowed them down, and relying on manual processes wasn't efficient enough.
But brokerages weren't left to face these challenges alone. Applied Systems continued to invest in modern technology solutions to deliver greater value for our brokerages.
While we're constantly thinking about how we can empower brokerages next year and beyond, let's take a moment to celebrate a year full of innovation.
Investing in AI: The Intelligent Advantage
When AI is used in our products, they become more intelligent, productive and automated for you. We believe that when AI is infused in each stage of the Digital Roundtrip of Insurance, it transforms the way brokerages do business.
As the leader in insurance-specific AI, Applied Systems is dedicated to investing in this vision. Last year, we acquired Planck to accelerate the integration of AI capabilities. This year, we acquired Cytora, the leading digital risk processing platform for the insurance industry.
The combination of Cytora's insurance-specific AI platform and our leading suite of insurance solutions will create even greater collaboration, connectivity, and automation throughout each stage.
As your brokerage grows, your technology should grow with you. We're excited to highlight some of the new features launched this year to Applied Epic®, Applied Pay®, and Indio that were designed to help brokers support their clients more efficiently.
New Features in Applied Epic
Applied Epic Bridge: Say hello to the new Outlook add-in for Applied Epic. It automatically recognizes the correct Epic account based on the email address being viewed in Outlook, then AI summarizes the emails in an Activity Note and attaches it to Epic. Email documentation has never been this streamlined.
Personal Lines Renewal Insights: This feature provides policy premium and policy detail comparisons in an Activity Note and PDF to highlight differences between current and renewal premiums. It includes how much the premium is increasing and what's changed that may impact the increase. All in the name of streamlining your renewals management.
Connected Commercial Lines: Brokers are able to now benefit from a more integrated and comprehensive experience by efficiently managing all their commercial lines policies with Epic. It enhances both visibility and operational efficiency, leading to a more connected experience and access to real-time data and automation tools. Brokers will see an improvement in their customer service and streamline the insurance experience for their clients.
Benefits Overview Screen: The newly designed screen provides a 360-degree view into key account information such as activities, plants, contacts, and Benefit details. This makes it easier for brokers to find and take action on plan-level information and more efficiently service their book of business.
New Features in Applied Pay®
Flexible Payment Options: A new checkout experience that now includes Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to provide insureds with more flexibility, whether they're paying on a desktop or mobile device. This elevates service delivery by allowing customers to choose the most convenient option to pay their premium, which reduces administrative overhead and error.
Autopay: Signing up for automatic payments is a game-changer. This new feature enables insured policyholders to sign up for automatic payments at the account, policy, or invoice level through the insured checkout page. It simplifies how you engage with payment collections and banishes any unnecessary administrative tasks in the process.
Hosted Payments Page: With this feature, the payment checkout page is secure, highly intuitive and hosted on your website. When a brokerage has a unique URL, clients can pay their premiums with ease and peace of mind knowing their transactions are safe.
New Features to Indio
Submissions Status Cleanup: Using submission status terms to identify open, closed and trash submissions allows brokers to easily identify submissions that need their attention.
Confidential Client Access: This feature allows data to be brought over by Applied Epic and applied to users' access credentials. Confidential clients in Indio are then only viewable or accessible by users who have permission to access them.
Applied Identity: Experience Applied Identity, a shared login across Epic, Applied CSR24 and other Applied products. This helps streamline the log in process, so users aren't wasting time trying to access information, all while maintaining security.

Applied Systems' Industry Recognition
We're proud of the ways Applied Systems has been recognized and honoured in the insurance sector this year.
Applied Systems Canada became the first Broker Management System (BMS) vendor to earn CSIO's Application Programming Interface (API) Security Standards Certification and improved our CSIO Standards Certification Rating to be the only vendor with a Platinum rating. We achieved this by demonstrating that customer information exchanged between Applied TAM or Applied Epic and an insurer's system is safeguarded by leading security protections.
We've also been honoured at the 2025 Insurance Business Awards with Best Insurtech Firm. The awards recognize excellence and innovation across the Canadian insurance industry, and winners are selected through a combination of submissions, independent research, and evaluation by a panel of experts. We're honoured to be recognized, and we remain committed to enabling the broker community through innovation and collaboration.
Helping You Win in 2025 and Beyond
Our commitment to empowering the insurance industry with innovative technology is at the heart of what we do. Applied Systems invests in modern technology solutions to drive greater value for our brokerages. The good news? We're not slowing down. We win when you win, and we look forward to another year full of growth, innovation, and success.
