Diving into commercial insurance often feels like navigating a maze, especially when balancing both small commercial policies and personal lines. The good news? The rollout of Epic Quotes Commercial Lines (EQCL), embedded in the Applied Epic® agency management system, is changing the game. Now, insurance agencies like yours can seamlessly quote and remarket without leaving your agency management system.

Single Data Entry, Less Time on Commercial Lines

EQCL leverages the comparative rater capabilities of Tarmika™ and is all about making your day easier and boosting your productivity. It allows agents to input the information just once, drastically cutting down the time-consuming, repetitive data entry that can eat up your day. It covers a broad range of lines of business, from General Liability and Business Owner's Policy (BOP) to Workers’ Compensation and Cyber insurance, connecting seamlessly with over 35 commercial markets. For agencies keen on enhancing workflows, increasing profits, and boosting efficiency in commercial lines rating, this tool is a no-brainer.

Positive Pilot Feedback

Before launching EQCL, we tested the product with a select group of insurance agencies. Let’s take a look at what some of our pilot agencies said:

  • “It pulled over all the information that we have in Applied Epic. I didn’t have to add anything that was already in the management system.”

  • “Since it is in Applied Epic, I have probably used it more than I ever thought to use Tarmika because it is there, and it’s super easy to do a remarket.”

  • “It went a lot faster, a lot smoother. It seems like there were half the questions I usually have to go through, maybe less. From beginning to end, it was a lot quicker.”

  • “I like that you can go in and create your policy shell. So, finishing it out through that process again was a very, very valuable option.”

Benefits and Features

Let’s jump into some of the new features of EQCL at a high level that will help agencies boost productivity and profits.

  • Simplified Real-Time Data Entry and Pre-Fill: This tool is natively integrated within Applied Epic, so agencies will see the most value in the pre-fill data for any upcoming renewals that they need to remarket. Simply choose the renewal or quote you want to work on, and the policy details will be prefilled into the quoting workflow, greatly reducing the manual entries required for remarkets. Agents can also see where the pre-fill information is being pulled from if they ever want to verify the information.

  • Quote Multiple Locations and Lines at Once: We know multi-locations have been a sticking point for some agencies, and we’re excited to announce this new functionality. Multi-locations are now supported for Workers’ Compensation, Business Owner’s Policy, Cyber and General Liability. Using multi-location eliminates the need to re-enter data and submit multiple quotes for a single risk within multiple locations. If you have multiple locations stored within the policy applications, it will prefill with those locations. There is no limit to the number of locations or buildings – we leave that up to the carriers to determine what fits within their eligibility.

  • Mark as Sold Workflow: Another new and exciting feature is the Mark as Sold Workflow. Now, Applied Epic agents can indicate which business they are binding by selecting the Mark as Sold workflow. This creates a policy shell to prepare the quote for download.

  • Activity and Event Codes: There are now three events for various workflows, including the New Commercial Quote Started, Renewal Commercial Quote Started, and Mark Quote as Sold. The three activities can be removed or added and selected simply with a check box.

First Steps

There are a few things to call out on how to get started with EQCL. First, you need to have the Epic Browser interface. If you’re not currently on it, here is the link to access Browser. Secondly, make sure you are on the April 2024 release. Lastly, you must have direct carrier appointments – EQCL does not support Market Access codes for network/cluster associations. There are more requirements that our team can help you navigate to get started with Epic Quotes Commercial Lines.
