Applied Systems Europe Names Dave Chapman Managing Director

Tom Needs, who has led Applied Systems Europe for more than five years, will remain CEO through 30 June 2026 to support a smooth and well-planned handover
LONDON – May 20, 2026 – Applied Systems Europe today announced that Dave Chapman has been named Managing Director, Applied Systems Europe. Tom Needs, who has successfully led the European business for more than five years, will remain in the CEO role through 30 June 2026, working closely with Chapman to ensure a seamless transition. Under Chapman’s leadership, the company is well positioned to continue to strengthen the European business’s growth and bring the immense potential of AI-enabled technologies to its customers.
Chapman brings more than 20 years of experience in the UK insurance broker market, having led sales and revenue organisations at SSP and, most recently, over the past six years at Applied Systems Europe. For the past two years, he has served as General Manager of Applied's Irish business, with full accountability for sales and operations across the region. His deep expertise across the UK and Irish insurance markets, combined with broad leadership experience, positions him to lead Applied Europe through its next phase of growth—spanning Applied Relay, Connect, Riskhandler, Wealthtrack, and the Applied Rating Hub's rapidly expanding Personal Lines capability in the UK.

The business continues to hold a leading market position in Ireland, while in the UK, Applied Rating Hub's Personal Lines rating capability is gaining strong momentum as demand grows for independent connectivity to personal lines rating. Chapman and Needs have been collaborating closely for some time to prepare for this transition, ensuring no disruption to the day-to-day running of the business.
