November 29, 2016

Latest release further enhances benefits and sales management capabilities in the industry’s fastest-growing cloud-based management system

University Park, IL – Nov. 29, 2016 – Applied Systems today announced the North American release of Applied Epic 2017, the latest version of the fastest-growing cloud-based agency and brokerage management system. Applied Epic 2017 enables agencies and brokerages to more effectively manage Benefits business and sales opportunities within the core application, as well as delivers staff modern navigation and workflows to foster greater productivity.

Applied Epic delivers the most technologically advanced software application to independent insurance agencies and brokerages to enable faster growth and profitability in a changing insurance marketplace. Purpose-built for insurance agencies and brokerages, Applied Epic is a single, integrated and open application that provides essential capabilities for each stakeholder within an agency or brokerage to better manage customer relationships, sales opportunities, financial accounting, and policy and benefits administration, reducing time and expenses spent managing separate, disparate systems. The application offers a comprehensive view of client information and internal operations through an intuitive, multilingual user interface, enabling users to make more informed decisions about their business and capitalize quickly on new opportunities. Applied Epic’s unique software architecture provides scalability for agencies and brokerages with multiple, global locations to manage expansion and business growth with ease.

Key enhancements in Applied Epic 2017 include:

  • Automated Benefits renewal: enables agencies and brokerages to automate renewal and re-marketing workflows for Benefits policies by prefilling client information on custom forms and supplemental forms. Additionally, for agencies and brokerages that manage self-funded Benefits plans, Applied Epic 2017 supports the import of fully customized forms and tracks self-funded plan development for each of the six base Benefits lines of business to provide a single view of an agency or brokerage’s entire Benefits package.
  • Customized and dynamic sales automation: delivers new executive-level dashboards that provide insight into sales activity, including New Business and Renewal Business year-to-date, hit ratio, and opportunity-to-close rate among others, across the organization to more closely track pipeline and growth. With the latest release, agencies and brokerages can customize Epic Sales Automation to track user-defined sales stages by line of business that are unique to their specific sales processes, ensuring consistent company-wide sales operations. Integration with Applied Mobile extends these sales tracking capabilities to staff in the field.
  • Optimized Accounting workflows: locate outstanding credits and debits quickly with a redesigned Apply Credits to Debits screen and enhanced search functionality. Additionally, users can simplify the reconciliation process by populating the reconciliations list with statements of interest when working on Direct Bill Commissions Reconciliations by leveraging new screen resize and display-and-save settings.
  • Automated workflows to simplify the writing of new business: allows users to copy a policy’s servicing, billing and application data when writing, re-marketing or merging business of one or more accounts. Additionally, the new schedule renumbering capability enables agencies and brokerages to more easily manage large schedules of vehicles, drivers and equipment floaters.

“In this era of digital transformation of the insurance industry, a connected agency or brokerage requires a management system that provides access to a complete view of customers and prospects by each person in the business – regardless of role, time or location,” said Michael Howe, senior vice president of Product Management, Applied Systems. “Applied Epic 2017 enables agencies and brokerages’ entire staff to work within a single application through expanded Benefits and sales process management, ensuring a single view of the business for every stakeholder to act upon. The latest innovation in Applied Epic furthers Applied’s commitment to providing connected agencies and brokerages a single application and standardized processes across all roles and locations to automate operations and support business growth with ease.”
