Watson Insurance Agency

As one of the largest independent agencies in the Southeast, it is critical for Watson Insurance Agency to have automation and standardized processes to stay efficient. The agency also needed an agency management system to bring their Personal Lines, Commercial Lines and Benefits business in one place.

Watson moved to Applied Epic, the world’s most widely used agency management system in the world, to provide essential capabilities for each stakeholder within the agency to better manage customer relationships, sales opportunities, financial accounting and policy and benefits administration across all lines of business, eliminating the need for separate, disparate systems.

When Watson began looking at agency management systems, it immediately recognized Applied Epic as a way to seamlessly manage all three lines of business (personal, commercial and benefits) in a central and standardized system with a single user experience. “For us, Applied Epic does it all,” said Debra Hoffman, IT manager, Watson Insurance Agency. “It’s unlimited, expandable and customizable with streamlined workflows and standardized processes.” It was especially important for Watson to have their Benefits business alongside P&C. With Benefits from Applied Epic, the team creates their own forms and has a central repository for applications, policies and census data. With all lines of business in one place, staff across all departments are more productive and efficient, and cross and up-sell opportunities are being fully realized.

Document management within Applied Epic saves the agency more than $12,000 annually. “We are completely paperless with the imaging system through Applied Epic,” said Hoffman. “It effortlessly downloads attachments directly into the system.” Hoffman is also thrilled with the marketing module. “With Applied Epic’s marketing module, we track prospects and have visibility into policy writing per carrier, which creates more profitable carrier relationships,” said Hoffman. Because Applied Epic is built on an SQL database, the advanced and flexible reports are more dynamic and automated. “The SQL database has unlimited capabilities as far as size,” said Hoffman. “We have access to any data we need and can pull specific reports on any query.”

The digital automation through Applied software and forward-thinking strategies of Watson create a business that is leading the way as a digital agency. Innovative software has transformed the agency into a growing business that offers more products and delivers a better customer experience every day.
