Q: What are the details of today’s announcement?

A: Applied Systems has completed the strategic acquisition of TechCanary. This transaction brings together Applied Systems, the leading global provider of agency management systems, with TechCanary, the leading insurance CRM system built on the Salesforce.com platform. TechCanary’s insurance CRM will be integrated with Applied Epic, the world’s most widely used agency management system, to enable agencies, insurers and MGAs to utilize the Salesforce.com platform to manage their sales and marketing activities to prospects and clients. The Salesforce.com platform will also provide users open access to thousands of applications available on the Salesforce AppExchange.  This acquisition follows Google’s minority investment in Applied in 2018 and further demonstrates Applied’s commitment to technical innovation and customer choice to benefit the insurance industry.

Q: Who is TechCanary? 

A: TechCanary is a cloud-based, insurance CRM system built natively on the Salesforce.com platform for agencies, brokerages, MGAs, GAs, wholesalers and insurers. The TechCanary solution supports complete front office operations and has an insurance data model to pre-configure the Salesforce.com platform for the insurance industry.

Q: Why did Applied acquire TechCanary?

A:  The digital age of insurance is upon us, redefining customer expectations and driving agencies, insurers and MGAs to place greater focus on front office applications to more effectively automate the selling and marketing processes to both prospects and customers. By bringing together Applied Epic, the world’s most widely used agency management system, with TechCanary’s leading insurance CRM system built on the Salesforce.com platform, agencies, insurers and MGAs will have a choice of solution for their front-office sales and marketing automation needs.  In addition, users of the integrated Applied Epic – TechCanary offering will gain open access to thousands of applications available on the Salesforce AppExchange.
