Growth in the benefits book
Adding group clients doesn’t mean adding a separate system.
Applied Epic®
Service a benefits account, update plan details and quote to enroll from the same system used by your P&C team. Eliminate the swivel chairing between different applications.
For most brokerages the group benefits book barely touches the broker management system. A policy shell tracks that the account exists, and everything that matters, from the plan summary to the renewal date, sits in a folder or somebody's inbox. Nobody outside the benefits team can answer a question about it.
The Benefits Workspace in Applied Epic puts the account, the plans and the documents in one place, so the answer is in the system rather than in someone's memory.
What centralized benefits servicing changes for a Canadian brokerage
Adding group clients doesn’t mean adding a separate system.
Your P&C clients are group benefits prospects, and the plan sits on the account your producers work.
The insurer’s direct bill statement is reconciled against what the plan earned, so a gap surfaces before write-off.
Plan detail sits on the client account rather than in one person’s folders, so anyone can answer a client question.
How it works
Find the account and the plan in one search
Search one workspace for account and plan information, associated activities and communications, and more. Act on it without the time or cost of opening another application.
Keep plan detail and documents together
Every plan's information, insurer correspondence and documents sit on the account, arranged around how a plan is managed. No more paper files lost on your desk.
Handle a plan without changing context
Edit, copy, renew or cancel from the account you are on, with the renewal date in view.
How it works
Import the insurer's direct bill statement
Upload a Benefits statement, and AI writes the data into the matching plan details. No rekeying, just approving.
Read the commission variance
A variance report shows expected commission against what actually came in, so a shortfall is visible before anyone goes looking for it.
Keep the trail on the account
The statement, the variance and the plan it belongs to stay together on the client account. Eliminate the disparate file folders.
Everything it takes to keep a group book serviced and findable.
Member counts, renewal dates and plan versions have their own place, not a P&C workaround.
Purpose-built plan forms replace custom ones, so plan data is consistent enough to report on across the book.
Find an account, a plan or a document from one search rather than opening records one at a time to look.
Insurer statements reconcile to the plans on the account, and a variance report shows what didn't match.
Plan details feed Applied Epic reports and dashboards for renewal lists and stewardship reporting.
Servicing contacts, brokerage-defined categories and account relationships sit on the account rather than outside it.

Less seconds waiting on lists to populate
Time saved navigating back to a client’s plan list, across five brokerages’ busiest users.
It's the place in Applied Epic where a group benefits account gets serviced. Account detail, plan detail and the documents that go with them sit together, and the plan is edited, renewed or cancelled from the same screen – on the same client record as the P&C business.
Because a book that lives in folders and inboxes only works while the person who built it is there. Putting group plans on the client record means anyone can answer a client question, the renewal is visible before it arrives, and the group and P&C sides of the same client are finally in one view.
No. Enrollment and member changes run on the insurer's portal, and Applied Epic does not replace that. Benefits Workspace is where the brokerage's own record of the account lives; the plans, the documents, the renewal dates and the commission.
Renewal dates, plan changes and cancellations are tracked on the account in Benefits Workspace, so what's coming due doesn't depend on a separate spreadsheet, and the renewal list can be pulled for the whole book rather than assembled account by account.
Group benefits software runs the brokerage's side of the book – account data, plan details, servicing, renewals and commission, alongside the P&C business on the same client record. Benefits administration software and HRIS platforms manage enrollment and eligibility for a single employer, and in Canada that work generally happens on the insurer's own portal. The two do different jobs.
