RIO Insurance Brokers is a forward-looking brokerage based in Toronto, Ontario. To grow the business, it created a three-year plan built around technology, location and people.

For the technology part of that plan, RIO wanted one connected solution that gave all staff access to the same data, without switching between multiple systems. RIO selected Applied Epic as its broker management system, along with a self-service portal for clients and a mobile app.

The brokerage moved to a digital way of working and saw results right away. Productivity rose quickly, which led to a much happier work environment. Staff spent less time on paperwork and more time building relationships with customers. Over the longer term, business growth increased. President and Founder Michael Delaney counts both the short-term and long-term results as wins for the brokerage.
